Why Our Chapter Is Named "Eagle Chapter"

When we were deciding on a name for our local Friendcraft chapter we wanted a name that was linked with America (since we are the first Friendcraft Chapter in the US) and that also symbolized the principles and aspirations of our local chapter. We chose the name “Eagle” Chapter.
The eagle is the national bird of the USA and is featured in the Great Seal of the United States. In addition, the eagle also has a rich and deep connection with the Native American Indian Peoples.
In Native American tradition, eagles represent integrity, truth, strength, courage, wisdom, power, and freedom. The Eagle spends more time in the higher element of Father Sky than other birds, and Father Sky is an element of the Spirit. According to Native American beliefs, of all the birds the Creator chose the Eagle to be the leader … the Master of the Sky.
And so, with these associations, “Eagle” was deemed an excellent choice for the name of the first Friendcraft chapter in the United States.
